Chic & Fabulous Table Lamp

Blogger Alkemie recently posted pictures of her amazing home and needless to say I fell in love. I particularly fell for the fabulous lamps featured in her living room. Alkemie kindly informed me that she got them from the always reliable Ballard Designs. The Parke Crystal Table Lamp is $375 and you can choose between 3 different color lamp shades. I happen to love the white shade the best because I think it provides a nice contrast with the shiny black base. Isn't it fabulous?

DIY - Lamp

I was planning on giving this lamp away to Goodwill since I never used it, it didn't go with my decor, and I generally just thought it was ugly. But then I got inspired to try and make it better. I went to Home Depot and picked up some glossy black and robins egg blue paint and went to town on my lamp. Below is a picture of the new and improved lamp. I sort of like it now. I think I'll wait a bit to give it away. :)

Sputnik Lamp

I learned something new about myself this morning. Yes, I discovered that I love Sputnik lamps. While browsingShutterbean's fab blog, I was immediately drawn to a picture of her dining room shown above. Something about the retro-modern-glamourous-space-age look of the chandelier just grabbed me. I am now searching for a similar one to put in my future dining room.

I think this Marlene Table Lamp from Crate & Barrell is classic.



I love all things Jonathan Adler, so it should come as no surprise that I think this Havenhurst lamp is amazing. I love, love, love the color of the lamp base.


Finally, I just bought the lamp below for $75 at a local antique market. Isn't it fabulous? I have been looking for a chrome Gourd inspired lamp forever and I was unwilling to pay more than $100 for one. I am so glad I waited!! I have seen these lamps sell for more than $600 so I was ecstatic went I found one that was so inexpensive. I plan on purchasing a black cylinder lamp shade and then it will be perfect!
